Daily 100-Word Story # 3: Never Trust A Rose

“Who let him in here?” Elizabeth asked Nurse Jenkins as Jacob stood over her, displaying false charm.

“He said that he was your husband!” Nurse Jenkins said shakily.

“Call security right now, he’s hiding something behind his back!” Elizabeth demanded.

Security arrived in Room 218, “What seems to be the problem?”

Jacob reached his arm around and displayed a dozen pink roses. Jacob smiled while handing them to Elizabeth.

Security left the room. Nurse Jenkins returned to her desk.  Less than two minutes later, while laughing with her co-workers, the loud alarm sounded.  The nursing staff returned to Room 218, “Code Blue!”
