Daily 100-Word Story #4: The Ring

“Who does that ring belong to?” Ms. Hopperwitz asked repeatedly.

Jason held the diamond ring, hanging from his necklace, tightly.

Jason’s father arrived, he held his tearful son.

Principal Sandstone began, “We believe that Jason has stolen a valuable ring!”

Jason’s father touched his son’s hand before standing. He spoke sternly, “What evidence have you to support such false allegations?”

“His refusal to answer! He must be guilty!”

“Maybe fear? Question – Is there a rule against bringing a ring to school?  The fact is, Jason is the owner! His mother handed him this valuable ring two minutes before she died!”
